Can design target one user group to help another?
Designboom.com's Shelter in a Cart contest seemed like a red herring to me. Designing better carts for homeless people does nothing to address the root causes of homelessness.
Instead, my entry asked a question to the non-homeless members of a community: "These are your neighbors. Is a lack of "home" the only thing stopping you from helping them?" If I give them a token "home" will you them give them the aid and assistance you would give your "homeful" neighbors?
